The exhibition by Danijel Žeželj, globally acclaimed comics creator from Zagreb, will display a selection of visual treats from his extensive opus. He also works as an illustrator, graphic designer, printmaker and animated film author.

Marko Kociper is one of the more prolific Slovenian comics authors with an extremely unique artistic and narrative approach. The heavily anticipated release of the final part of Kociper’s comics trilogy starring the titular Badger will be accompanied by a retrospective exhibition, displaying the latest adventures of this notable, eternally thirsty and horny hero. The Badger and the Desert Flower album was published by Stripburger/Forum Ljubljana.

MEXICO IN COMICS | lecture
Mexico was not just featured in Meksikajnarji, it was also a fitting backdrop and setting for many other comics. With the help of visual aids, Pia Nikolič, editor of the Stripofilija show on Radio Študent, will explain where and how Mexico’s influence is felt in various comics by authors from all over the world.

Delphine Vaute is a young French drawer and illustrator. In the DobraVaga gallery at the Ljubljana marketplace, she will showcase a selection of original drawings and illustrations from her picture book for adults, Yvonne, l’enfant château, which was published in Slovenia last year by VigeVageKnjige. The opening of the exhibition will be accompanied by a discussion with the artist, moderated by Anja Golob.

MARCEL RUIJTERS & ROMUALD SOURISSE: INFERNO | exhibition opening
The release of the Slovenian translation of comics novel Inferno by Dutch comics heavyweight Marcel Ruijters will be accompanied by an eponymous exhibition at the Alkatraz Gallery. In addition to a selection of original comic pages, illustrations and murals, the author will also display a series of illuminated drawings on parchment, which flirt with medieval artistic heritage with a pinch of irony. Using ancient techniques and materials, the drawings were coloured by French colourist and printmaker Romuald Sourisse. The Inferno album was published by Stripburger/Forum Ljubljana.
