ŠPIL LIGA: SEASON 2015/16 FINAL GIG

This year’s Špil Liga is slowly nearing its end. All that’s left is the final show, where the expert jury and the audience will vote for the champion of the 2015/2016 season. Over four competition nights and two semi-finals, Tomaž Pezdirc (Radio Terminal), Klavdija Kopina (MMC), Toni Cahunek (RTV) and Robi Bulešić (SAE Institute Ljubljana) lent an expert ear to young musicians.

Špil Liga’s mission is to broaden horizons and gain valuable stage experience. The final evening will be the third performance by the four remaining bands during this season.

Dewy young In The Attic from the British International School of Ljubljana breathed fresh air into Špil Liga’s sound with an international line-up and a softer version of rock, occasionally enhanced by a violin. The music and charm of Teenagers prove that rock is truly most at home in the Primorska region, while Infected‘s energetic performance brings even the most indifferent of crowds to their feet. It nearly happened that all the Špil Liga finalists would feature a female vocalist, but Škofja Loka rockers Attic Mist took care of the exception during the league itself. Their new line-up had no problem in wowing the jury and playing their way to the finals.

Within the framework of the Kino Šiška Centre for Urban Culture programme, Špil Liga offers high school musicians and bands across Slovenia the chance to perform in Ljubljana, assisted by a team of professionals. The winning band receives awards that help them further develop their career.

The winning band will be able to record three tracks with the support of SAE Institute Ljubljana, play a gig at Kino Šiška, and all its members will be entitled to a 50% discount on the ORTO ELASTIK monthly mobile plan.
