Olja Grubić: PSYCHOLOGICAL CANNIBALS

Psychological Cannibals is an intermedia project problematizing plutocracy as a form of absolute political power. Using religion, armed forces and politics, psychopathic elites impose norms on society, which accepts them without second thought. Egotism, the desire for power, militarism, the glorification of political power, religious mysticism, fanaticism and narcissism are the characteristics of modern society, with modern psychopaths often intelligent people who do not break the law, but rather create it.

Activist art and other inappropriate commentary on the state of society, the rule of the psychopaths and their exploitation are censored. That is why the project turns censorship into a medium of expression, a comment and artistic reaction to the world we live in. The artistic book contains censored pictures, drawings and texts with occasional sound interventions – “psychological landmines”. The censorship allows visitors to freely interpret what it conceals and challenges conceptions of the freedom of expression and (self-)censorship out of fear. FB event>
