Cataclysm is coming this January

It might seem a long time, but 25 January will be here quickly. In no time. In just the time needed for hyperblast to be performed by Canadian death metal machinery Kataklysm, who will be smashing Kino Šiška in Ljubljana to smithereens.

Indeed – the end of the world is nigh, or possibly at least of the popular Ljubljana-based concert venue which – like other venues worldwide – will have to endure the attack of the Canadian death metal monster. Kataklysm are coming back – again, true, but we always want them back. Because they’re a killer. Loud and clear.

Until now, the Canadian Kataklysm have surely become an incarnation of their name. Having begun as a chaotic young beast destroying everything it chanced upon, they have grown into a cunningly devastating creature whose each precisely measured shot scores a bull’s eye! Have you seen their festival appearance already? Not yet? You will have a chance on the last day of this year’s Metaldays festival in Tolmin. However, it is one thing to play a festival, and another one to play a club gig.

If you can recollect the concerts played by Katakylism either in Ljubljana or in Maribor, or even in Kranj a very long time ago, you can tell that these men are most striking in the club environment. They are good at festivals and excellent in clubs.

And it is not just their new drummer that they are presenting this time – we have known him since their last performance in January 2014. Neither is it old hits that we’ve been through a thousand times, but we still like to listen to. Rather than that, they are bringing the live club experience of tracks from Of Ghosts And Gods, released on Nuclear Blast on 31 July 2015, and – judging by the first single that has already been released – a killer of an album.

Naturally they won’t be alone – they will be summoning the gods of devastation together with the Greek Septicflesh and the Belgian/International zombie awakeners Aborted.
