The exhibition by Beli sladoled books & zines entitled Presenting the Process of Devising and Realising an Art Publication (P.P.Z.M.U.P.) focuses on presenting the drawing as an autonomous art medium through the process of devising and designing an art publication. The drawing thus functions as an open space, providing endless ways and possibilities for upgrading the artistic form. The two artists are composing and forming stories using simple means, such as lines, as well as the method of making collage images on unconventional backgrounds. Leon Zuodar uses notebooks of diverse sizes and newspapers in which he sticks matrixes for drawings, comprising figures as well as letters, lines, various symbols or image details functioning as prints made by cardboard stencils. Miha Perne also uses the so-called artist’s books to record his daily responses, notes and personal memories in an artistic language. Images and their meanings, as well as the motifs encountered by both authors in real life and provided with greater authenticity by means of transformation and bonding, are the matrixes of everyman’s reality.
Miha Perne – born in Ljubljana in 1978. In 1997 he completed the Secondary School for Design and Photography (Ljubljana), course photography. In 2004 he graduated in painting from the Academy of Arts and Design, Ljubljana. In 2005, he formed the painting collective Beli sladoled with Leon Zuodar. In 2011 they established together the Beli sladoled books and zines publishing house and in the same year they received the OHO Group Award for their works. Perne is active in painting, graphic arts and comics. Gardens.
Leon Zuodar – born in Postojna in 1977. Having completed a secondary school in Postojna, he graduated in painting from the Academy of Arts and Design, Ljubljana in 2004. In 2005, he formed the painting collective Beli sladoled with Leon Zuodar. In years 2007−2009 he was a member of the art collective/project Art of Asfalt. In 2011 he established together with Leon Zuodar the Beli sladoled books and zines publishing house and in the same year they received the OHO Group Award for their works. In 2014, Zuodar also joined the programme organising team in Pivka House of Culture. Skateboards.
