The current lesson originates in Toronto where back in 2011 three aspiring jazz students got together: keyboard player Matthew Tavares, bassist Chester Hansen and drummer Alex Sowinski. From their very beginnings, BADBADNOTGOOD began to challenge the conventions of jazz, not only with their fresh approach to improvisation and their futurist sound, but also with their repertoire selection and numerous collaborations with artists of various genres, such as Future Islands, Bootsy Collins, RZA, Frank Ocean, Earl Sweatshirt, DOOM, Danny Brown and many others. Their early fans included the legendary BBC celebrity Gilles Peterson and Tyler The Creator. Released in June 2011, their first EP, BBNG, brings a unique fusion of jazz virtuosity with the pearls of contemporary music production and a futurist approach to sound processing. It was an immediate hit among the critics and the general public.

The trio scored a bull’s eye with their album BBNG2, which combines their original songs with covers of songs by other authors. By merging the traditions of jazz, hip hop, punk and dance electronics into a notorious performance, they have accumulated a numerous and diversified fan base and visited all the major festivals from Coachella to Glastonbury.

Last year, their first full-length studio album, III, was released on Innovative Leisure, and in February this year, the hardly awaited result of their studio collaboration with Ghostface Killah was released – the album Sour Soul.

ŽIGA MURKO
This young Slovenian artist mixes different music worlds. On the one hand, he is a trombonist and composer with a degree. On the other, he is producer of twisted electronic beats. His music was born to enthral, to pull you out of the ordinary confines of reality straight into a world of fluttering electronica birds and blooming palm trees, and from there to red lit rooms and gorgeous women basking in the haze of cigarette smoke. Like his music, he is continuing to grow in many different directions, standing at the intersection of many different paths. It’s Alive
