After the release of critically acclaimed The Something Rain in 2012, Tindersticks are coming back to Kino Šiška with the most ambitious, diverse and elaborate project you’ll have heard from Tindersticks in recent years – album The Waiting Room. Let’s be honest: Tindersticks have always made records that surpassed each other and even with their tenth album on their backs and two decades into their musical voyage Tindersticks are a band now confidently creating the best songs of their career. The Waiting Room (released in January 2016) is not just an album, it is literally a piece of art – each track is accompanied by a short film, a visual interpretation by it’s own director, featuring Christoph Girardet, Pierre Vinour, Claire Denis, Rosie Pedlow and Joe King, Gregorio Graziosi, Richard Dumas and Gabriel Sanna.

Tindersticks released their first album in 1993, an audacious seventy-nine minute sprawling double album that paid little if no attention to the prevailing musical scene. Self-produced, it broke many supposed rules of how albums should be made. It was released to huge critical acclaim and established the band on a path of musical adventure that they are still feeling their way down today. Along the way they have continued to explore and develop their sound, touring the world, often playing with orchestras, scoring 7 films by renowned film director Claire Denis, writing and recording many duets and singing with, amongst others, Lhasa de Sela, Mary Margaret O͛Hara and Isabella Rossellini as well as creating soundscapes for museums and music for art installations. The 3 original members – Stuart A. Staples, Neil Fraser and David Boulter – are now fully joined by Dan Mckinna (bass) and Earl Harvin (drums).
