ZINE VITRINE is a public archive, a small library of zines, located at Centre for Urban Culture Kino Šiška, Ljubljana. The collection was established in 2014, and is since growing with zines of all shapes and sizes. The archive is accompanied by wonderful DIY/DIWO workshops hosted by different zinesters (Leon Zuodar and Tanja Milharčič, Nez Pez, Le Petit Mignon, Pirate Piška). Contemporary Slovenian zine scene is bustling with all sorts of creations, from trashy or glossy photozines, zines with drawings, poetry zines, perzines, scene zines, feminist zines, artsy graphic design zines and proper artzines. One of the main zine related events is also an independent zinefest Caffeine Hours, organized by a small publishing house Look Back and Laugh, which takes place in the beginning of summer. The ZINE VITRINE selection at Zinefest Mannheim is due to language barrier limited to mostly visual zines.
