Two-time Grammy Award winner and one of the most important musicians of the 21st century Thundercat in Slovenia for the first time! The Brainfeeder protégé, Kendrick Lamar’s close collaborator and one of the most brilliant bass players of all time will visit Šiška for a unique musical experience that is not to be missed.

There are many excellent musicians in the world, but only a few of them leave their mark on entire generations, regardless of genre, age or location. Stephen Lee Bruner aka Thundercat is undoubtedly one such. With his relaxed, genre-transcending virtuosity and playful approach to bass playing, he is regarded as nearly synonymous with contemporary bass playing and unexpectedly became a global star with top billing at festivals such as Glastonbury and Coachella, the collaborator of a wide array of the most important musicians of our time, and the recipient of numerous awards.

Growing up in a musical family, he learned to play while listening to famed jazz bassist Jaco Pastorius, then joined crossover legends Suicidal Tendencies as a teenager. It seems impossible to fit all of his creative feats in later years into a couple of paragraphs, so let’s just list a few of the most prominent ones.

Thundercat is a cornerstone of the acclaimed Brainfeeder record label, founded by his long-time partner Flying Lotus, who also produced Thundercat’s Grammy-winning album It Is What It Is, dedicated to the memory of his tragically deceased friend Mac Miller. He is a major figure in the hiphop world, not only due to his numerous collaborations with artists such as Anderson .Paak, Travis Scott, Erykah Badu and others, but also for his irreplaceable creative contribution to Kendrick Lamar‘s To Pimp A Butterfly, one of the seminal records of this millennium. He also received his first Grammy for the song “These Walls” off of the album. The jazz institution Blue Note has invited him for a residency, pop star Ariana Grande performed a duet with him, comedian Dave Chappelle was his impromptu hype man at a concert in New York – there’s no end to the stories proving Thundercat’s renown and importance.

In short, it’s clear that Thundercat in Šiška in April will be one of those gigs that will forever be a part of the history of the Slovenian concert scene. Don’t miss out!
