Following last year’s sold-out debut, Festival 202 is returning in the beginning of June – longer, bolder, and with a new story. The second edition of the festival will delve into the history of Slovenian hip hop: from Recycleman (ex Ali En) and Klemen Klemen to Leopold I. and Vazz Live.
In June 2025, Festival 202 brought the new wave of Slovenian music to a packed Križanke Open Air Theatre, creating a magical atmosphere and building momentum to continue its story. This year we’ll journey through the history of Slovenian hip hop on the open-air stage in front of Kino Šiška.
Over two festival days, a colorful lineup of performers will guide us through decades of the domestic hip-hop scene: Recycleman (ex Ali En), Klemen Klemen, Emkej, Tekochee Kru, Trkaj and Zlatko, Murat & Jose, Leopold I., Vazz Live, Žena, Matter, Sahareya and SunnySun, Unknown, Slon & Sadež …
These are the first announced names of the second edition of Festival 202, which will take place under the slogan The History of Slovenian Hip Hop. New names will be revealed on 1 March, and the first announcements already suggest that over the two festival days we will be accompanied by a diverse selection of key artists, from the pioneers of the genre in Slovenia to future standard-bearers, presenting both its classic foundations and the diversity of contemporary subgenres.The programme has been curated in collaboration with Borja Močnik – DJ Borka.
Two concert evenings and a rich accompanying program
Until the announcement of additional performers and further details, we can already hint that Festival 202 will once again be enriched by a vibrant accompanying program. Through it, we pay tribute to hip hop – a culture that has been shaping music, fashion, language, and ways of life for more than 50 years. From its beginnings at block parties in the Bronx, hip hop has grown into a global movement, leaving a strong mark on Slovenia as well. With a full day of activities on Saturday, we aim to bring hip hop culture closer to a wider audience.
