One of modern progressive music’s most fearless and innovative forces, Norwegians Leprous, are returning to Šiška following the release of one of their most mesmerising and impactful albums yet, 2024’s Melodies of Atonement.
FOR FANS OF: Opeth, Devin Townsend, Riverside …
Leprous, formed in 2001 in Norway, have built a reputation for constant reinvention, blending progressive metal, electronic elements, and meticulous songwriting across eight acclaimed albums. Pairing songs that sound out of this world with unforgettable live performances and collaborations with Ihsahn (Emperor), the band was quickly adopted by metal and rock fans around the globe. These days, their tracks rack up streams in the millions, and the group are regulars at some of the most respected rock and metal festivals.
Following the success of Aphelion (2021), their latest release Melodies of Atonement marks a bold new direction, stripping away orchestral arrangements in favour of a rawer, heavier, and more modern sound focused on the band’s core five members. The album blends electronic textures, catchy hooks, and emotional intensity, making it one of their most accessible works to date, featuring tracks with single-like immediacy while retaining Leprous’ signature complexity. While the music leans heavier, it avoids retro clichés, creating something fresh and distinctly contemporary. Experience the masterpiece live in Šiška in February.
