Katedrala Hall

album debut release

Following their wonderfully received performance at Šiška Open in front of Kino Šiška in September, pop electro duo zalagasper are coming back at the end of February with a headline show, presenting their heavily anticipated debut 4, scheduled for release on 14 February.

Electro pop duo zalagasper, composed of singer Zala Kralj and multi-instrumentalist Gašper Šantl, first drew the attention of the broader public with their hit song “Valovi”, the Slovenian song of 2017, as affirmed by the Golden Flute music award. His subtle, sensual electronic pop and her charmingly dreamy voice, compared by Mladina to “American dream pop icon Hope Sandoval“, just seem made for each other. Since the release of “Valovi”, they’ve written the hits “Baloni”, “S teboi” and “Sebi”, which took the young artists across the sandy beaches of Tel Aviv, where they represented Slovenia at the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest.

They’ve warmed up for British indie musician Laurel at Kino Šiška, played Moscow Music Week and Waves Vienna, were invited to perform at the grand Šiška Open celebration at the tenth anniversary of Kino Šiška, and they’re heading to Eurosonic Noorderslag in the Netherlands ahead of their headline gig in our Katedrala Hall. Their debut is scheduled for release on 14 February, and they’ll premiere it in Kino Šiška’s grand hall.

The evening will be introduced by Younite, the music project by Iza Leskovšek and Jakob Zlatinšek. They began making music together in primary school, then decided to take it more seriously a few years ago. They released two original songs over the past year, both of which can be heard in the feature-length film “Julija”. In September 2019, they applied to the Radio-Television Slovenia contest for young, up-and-coming artists, called EMA Freš. The pair made it to the finals of the competition, performing their song “The Cure” on television a few weeks ago.
