Belgrade-based artist Umbra intertwines her ghostly vocals with electronic layers, swirling somewhere between melodies and noise.
At moments quirky, her jagged synthpop can quickly drift into poetic monologues or despairing laments, always drawing on her colourful musical past, which includes classical music, choirs, music for the theatre, vocal workshops, noise poetry and more. Her work has been praised by referential media such as The Wire and The Quietus, and she was selected among the SHAPE Platform’s artists in 2018.
Summer in Šiška is a series of free evening concerts, helping you chase away the social distancing blues. If the weather cooperates, we’ll cool off with a refreshing drink on the summer terrace of Café Kino Šiška, and if it looks to be raining, we’ll listen to good tunes in accordance with applicable public health regulations beneath the roof of our Komuna Hall. Welcome to your Summer in Šiška!
