Stereo MC’s will return this October to remind audiences why they remain one of the key names in the British dance and hip-hop scene. Known for their energetic live shows and distinctive blend of hip-hop, funk, and electronic music, the group achieved international success in 1992 with the hit single “Connected” and the album of the same name.

The group was formed in the mid-eighties by childhood friends Rob Birch and Nick Hallam, inspired by their shared love of early hip-hop, funk, and electronic music. After their first releases and the launch of the independent label G Street Records, they released their debut album “33-45-78” in 1989, followed soon after by “Supernatural”, featuring the successful singles “Elevate My Mind” and “Lost in Music”.

Their breakthrough came with the album “Connected”, which reached #2 on the UK Albums Chart and earned the group two Brit Awards in 1994 for Best Group and Best Album. The record is still considered one of the defining dance/hip-hop albums of the early nineties thanks to its fusion of rap, funk, and electronic rhythms.

Stereo MC’s also became known for their energetic performances and remix work for artists such as U2, Madonna, Tricky, and Terranova. Over the years, they toured and performed alongside acts including De La Soul, Living Colour, Happy Mondays, and Jane’s Addiction.

In later years, they continued exploring club music, launching their own label “connected” in 2015 and becoming established within the contemporary house and Afro House scene through collaborations with artists such as Adam Port, Keinemusik, and Stil Vor Talent.

The October concert will be an opportunity to experience a band whose music has influenced generations and continues to hold an important place in electronic and club culture today.

Tickets on sale on 15 May at 10 AM online and at Eventim outlets.
