Spilt Ink | 2000 AD on Slovenian Soil

lecture

In the super modern year 2022, the entity named 2000 AD will record 45 years of blasphemous earthly existence. Under its auspices, many occasionally censored comic series, such as Judge Dredd, Slaine, Nemesis The Warlock, Rogue Trooper, ABC Warriors and others, drawn or written by John Wagner, Pat Mills, Alan Grant, Carlos Ezquerra, Simon Bisley, Henry Flint, Brian Bolland, Cam Kennedy and a host of other victims of quack indecency, have been and still are being made. The impact left by 2000 AD on pulpy science fiction literature all these years on Slovenian soil and abroad will be presented through the personal, completely biased testimony of its still living consumer and contemporary. Get to know the reading culture of Slovenes who mostly read foreign pulp, and do not leave your children in front of the TV, as they will develop into poor television viewers. Do not shove pulp literature into their hands and do not allow it to impose itself on them, for their spirit will turn out god-knows-how.

Tomaž Gorkič saw the light of day only a few years before the conception of 2000 AD and more or less devoted his life to the creation of various trash and pulp, which has, over the years and under the ominous auspices of 666 Productions, also manifested itself in the obscure fanzine Skirocore, the anti-music band Deca Debilane and incorrect feature films, among which the feature films Idyll and The Curse of Valburga caused perhaps the most outrage among the interested public.
