A new, seventh season and new acts! The second gig of the season will feature JAJA BOJZ, Le Fam and Before Time, competing for the high school music Olympus.
The two winners of each evening are selected by the expert jury and the audience, which votes by sending SMS messages. The SMS voting lasts for 10 minutes after the final performance. In the meantime, the jury ranks the bands from first to third place. In case the jury and the audience rank the same band in first place, the band that was ranked second by the expert jury advances to the next round.
JAJA BOJZ are a young punk band, formed in 2016. They’ve played quite a few gigs during their time, as well as achieved enviable results at young band competitions – at Droogstock 2017, they won no fewer than five awards, and they also won the Glas Mladih competition, winning a gig on the main stage of Castle Festival. Their repertoire includes original material and a few covers. They want to play for as many people as possible, sharing their music’s message with them, and to record an album soon.
Le Fam are a rock five-piece from the coast, featuringLana Hrvatin (vocals), Martin Kandido (bass), Aljaž Kravanja (rhythm guitar), Filip Paladin (drums) and Enej Žagar (lead guitar). They’ve played together for a year already, with most of them having past experience from previous bands. They mostly play covers of foreign songs, but also write their own songs.
Before Time is a Kamnik-based group that is hard to define within a single genre. You might describe them as a blend of funk and rock, with a touch of psychedelia. The five members’ diversity is evident in the instrumental foundation, which represents a cross-section of various arts and views of the world. Despite being proponents of Slovenian lyrics, most of theirs are in English. They create what they feel, and are therefore promising completely authentic and sincere “Beforetimers” onstage.
The expert jury, which monitors the bands from the beginning, is composed of: Dominika Maša Kozar, Pavel Lipovšek and Andi Koglot.
Organisation: Kino Šiška.
