The first Indekš lesson of 2017 belongs to Jonathan, experienced rockers from Rijeka who made quite the impression with their energetic and piercing performance as the opening act for Editors at Kino Šiška in December 2015. Since their debut album Bliss (2014), the band has been compared to the likes of Interpol, Placebo, The Strokes and Franz Ferdinand, and the aforementioned album got them a nomination for Best New Act of 2015 at the Croatian music awards Porin.

The quintet has played all of the major regional festivals – Exit, INmusic, Ferragosta Jam and Bratislava’s Waves – after which they headed off to the studio, emerging not with one, but with two records. The mini albums, titled To Love and Or To Hold, are heralded by the perky single ‘Who Lies To Whom’, which has been getting the crowds at their live shows dancing for some time now.

Opening for Jonathan are young local hopefuls NoAir, who have been developing their distinctive brand of alternative pop since 2013. Their debut album Existential (2014) is distinguished by melodiousness, which is reflected via numerous forms of sound and rhythm, as well as by socially critical and introspective lyrics. In early 2016, the quartet went into the studio with producer Robi Bulešič to work on their second album.

Organisation: Kino Šiška.
