You’re invited to the traditional Halloween gloomy group zine workshop, this year led by illustrator Maja Poljanc.
The starting point for this year’s workshop will be demons, monsters, witches, freaks and other sinners who live at Hell 666. According to findings and calculations from the 16th century, when their number was calculated based on the biblical number of the beast, hell is home to the 66 princes of hell, commanding a legion of 6,660,000 demons. During the workshop, you’ll increase their number a bit more, as you’ll make new infernal creatures in the manipulated technique, using visual fragments taken mainly from wooden and copper engravings from the 19th century. In addition, the workshop will demonstrate the use of the old medieval technique of gluing silver (as we are located in hell, they cannot be golden) leaf with garlic glue that you will make yourself.
Each participant will contribute a page or spread to the final zine, which will be photocopied for all workshop participants. It will be printed on black paper with black ink, vertical cropped A5 format.
The number of workshop participants is limited. Mandatory prior registration at: email@example.com.
