God Is An Astronaut

+ Shadow Universe

We’re happy to announce the return of Irish post-rock giants God Is An Astronaut, a guaranteed excellent concert experience, who will visit us as part of their 20th anniversary tour, along with their latest studio work Ghost Tapes #10 (2021).

During the lockdown, many of you have undoubtedly played precisely this album, taking advantage of its epic compositions to wander elsewhere at least in your mind. It is this album’s wondrous melodies, meaty riffs and bombastic directness, released in 2005 and re-released in 2011, that proved that instrumental post-rock veterans God Is An Astronaut belong at the very top of their genre. “God Is An Astronaut’s new full-length places them in a league with giants, and one can only imagine the undreamed of heights this band may reach in later years if the staggering promise they display on All Is Violent, All Is Bright continues to be fulfilled,” wrote Drowned In Sound at the time. Today, after all these years, it’s clear they knew what they were talking about – and that God Is An Astronaut have definitely fulfilled expectations.

Irish four-piece God Is An Astronaut have released ten full-lengths so far including their latest, Ghost Tapes #10 (2021). The band regularly visits our Katedrala Hall, as they always ensure an unforgettable concert, not just musically, but visually as well. Their gigs are regarded as spectacular explosions of sound and light that leave a long-lasting impression, as evidenced by their constantly growing audience. After two decades of existence, the band is justifiably named as one of the lead acts in the genre, alongside bands such as Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Mogwai and Sigur Rós. We can’t wait for them to visit us again!

Slovenian instrumental duo Shadow Universe approaches post-rock through the prism of film scores, creating shimmering soundscapes packed with narrative and atmosphere. The project, which only made its live debut in 2019, has not only released several accomplished studio albums in a short time, but also attracted the attention of referential international media such as Metal Injection, Louder and Distorted Sound. The extraordinary response of both listeners and music critics also led to a contract with the esteemed British label Monotreme Records, joining genre giants such as 65daysofstatic and This Will Destroy You.

Tickets on sale online and at Eventim outlets.

The concert was postponed to 23. 9. 2023. Already purchased tickets are valid for the new date, refunds are possible as well, but only until 24. 5. 2022.
