SLOVENIAN MOMENTS @ WAVES VIENNA 2018
Vienna, we’re coming!
Vienna, we’re coming!
At their most recent visit in May 2016, the “genius clowns left a mighty impression on the audience” (Radio Študent) and treated us to a “perfect Tiger Lillies evening” (Delo) with their cheekily bizarre cabaret. Upon their return in December, these unique Grammy nominees will present the sinful and debauched scenes off of their newest album Devil’s Fairground.
After leaving their mark on the opening night of the MENT Ljubljana 2018 festival, the post-punk-gospel connection is returning to Šiška, in a time when, due to events around the world, its righteous fury, unbowing political stance and call to rebellion are all the more on point – and needed. Don’t miss the return of one of the most thrilling bands of the 21st century!
Milko Lazar and Bojan Gorišek and their guests, the Zagreb Saxophone Quartet, will present a brand new programme, including two novelties premiered in Šiška. The programme will intertwine compositions by Milko Lazar and Philip Glass for two pianos and compositions for an unusual sextet of four saxophones and two pianos.
CoFestival, the international festival of contemporary dance, will take place from 23rd to 29th November at various venues in Ljubljana. We will serve up both international and Slovenian productions, a conference, symposium, presentations and discussions.
Croatian emo-macho slacker Svemirko first sold out our smaller venue, then turnt up an unforgettable party of dreamy indie pop in our larger hall. Get to know this h-o-t-t new act in our new Liveurope Quickie.
Due to the illness of Altın Gün’s band member, we are sorry to announce the concert is cancelled. In their words: “Hello everybody. We have some sad news. Erdinç, our jedi master of saz, synths and vocals got very sick so we had to cancel our upcoming shows at Südpol Festival, Aperitivo al Verde Festival, Kino
October will again be coloured by comics! The Tinta comics festival will focus on the variety and breadth of contemporary comics creativity with a carefully curated selection of intriguing local and foreign guests and a diverse programme featuring exhibitions, lectures, talks, film screenings, a comics fair, storytelling and other events.
Tri ženske, trije avtorski izrazi, trije arhetipi, trije obrazi. Andaluzija, Balkan, preteklost in sedanjost.
In October, we’re serving up a double package of regional music sensations whose awesome hits are ringing up YouTube views in the millions and have left their unmistakable mark on 2017 in their respective countries. Don’t miss the Croatian electro pop duo Nipplepeople and the freshest voice in Serbian pop, Bojana Vunturišević!
