At their first visit to Šiška, Belgian ensemble Echo Collective will play their take on the famed album “Amnesiac” by Radiohead. The neoclassical instrumental arrangements of well-known songs such as Pyramid Song and I Might Be Wrong have astounded critics, who have declared the album a “glorious homage” to the original.

The ever bizarre trio The Tiger Lillies are coming back to Kino Šiška after two and a half years.

One of the most important electronic artists of all time, the German master of bold techno, ambient music and IDM Apparat, also known as part of the popular Moderat, is coming to Slovenia. He’ll perform at Šiška as part of his first solo tour in six years.

On November 22, Slovenians had the opportunity to see the Belgian indie-queen at work in concert hall Kino Šiška. Kino Šiška can be considered the AB of Ljubljana and has 2 halls: the main hall with a capacity of 930 and a small hall with a capacity of 200.

Young German pianist, composer and producer Martin Kohlstedt, “alongside Nils Frahm a pop star among contemporary pianists” (Intro.de), will lead us into the world of his unique modular compositions, which utilise improvisational and experimental principles to ensure an exceptional, unrepeatable concert experience.

URBAN HEAT – PREMIERE POSTPONED

The premiere of Gašper Kunšek’s Urban Heat solo dance performance, planned for 8th December 2018, has been postponed to 24th January 2019 due to injury. We wish Gašper a speedy recovery.

In the days leading up to the fifth MENT Ljubljana festivala, two of its familiar faces will pay a visit to Šiška. First, Croatian Ivan Ščapec, the founder of Vlasta Popić and Seine, will present his most intimate side, the Eine solo project. Afterwards, Serbian indie folk group Stray Dogg, beloved by Devendra Banhart, will play their brand new album Look At The Moon.

Slovenian band Same babe, whose special approach to Slovenian folk music and poetry has already charmed us in the Izštekanih unplugged radio show and at Cankar Hall, will present their brand new album Vražji bend (A Hell of A Band).

Anna Calvi – a total communion of artist and the audience

There’s nothing quite like visiting a concert with your favorite veterinarian while chewing on some Calvo. All malodourous jokes aside, there’s nothing fishy about Anna Calvi, though. This is her second visit to Ljubljana, and sure enough it is a night to remember.
