With the project 72 Days, Žiga Sever presents an exhibition addressing a singular motif – the doors of a wardrobe, upon which pieces of clothing are swapped daily.
This unplanned rotation, conditioned by the indifference of the furniture as the bearer of the work’s central subject, reflects not only a temporal variable through continuous daily creation, but a mood variable as well. In this work, the artist turns toward questioning the relationship between depiction and abstraction, organized through a series of precise, considered, and expressive strokes.
Žiga Sever (1999) is an illustrator, comic artist, and visual artist. He holds a master’s degree in illustration from the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Ljubljana (ALUO). He has presented his works in solo exhibitions at DobraVaga Gallery, AKC Nama, and the Centre for Illustration, as well as in numerous group exhibitions at home and abroad, including the ZDSLU Gallery, Cankarjev Dom, Maribor Art Gallery, and the Akademie der Künste der Welt in Cologne. His comics have been published in Stripburger, Literatura, and Komikaze magazines. He leads comic and visual art workshops and is a recipient of the ALUO Prešeren Award for the project Bombon.
