October means top-tier comics!

From 7 to 11 October 2026, Ljubljana will once again become the capital of comics! The 13th edition of the International Tinta Comics Festival will again bring a colourful and varied programme to venues across the city, with pre- and post-festival events taking place across all of October.

We’ll gather and socialise at exhibitions, talks, lectures, workshops, and storytelling events for children. Make sure not to miss the grand Saturday comics fair at Kino Šiška, which will traditionally conclude with the Zlatirepec Awards for the best comics of the year and the international Sophie Castille Award for the best comic translations into Slovenian.

There will be ample opportunity to meet top names in contemporary original comics. Our guests include:

  • Nadine Redlich, an outstanding German comic artist, who tackles everyday absurdities with heaps of humour;
  • Kerascoët, an acclaimed French creative duo distinguished by their charming drawing and dark, fairytale-like poetics;
  • Edmond Baudoin, an expressive virtuoso and one of the giants of original French comics;
  • the Kutikuti association, the driving force behind independent Finnish comics, which will bridge the Finnish and Slovenian comic scenes through a new exhibition project;
  • the Serbian cultural and artistic production collective Matrijaršija, bringing the untamed spirit of Belgrade’s alternative graphic scene to Ljubljana.

As part of a comic residency, young French comic artist Jeanne Sterkers will also be working in Ljubljana this October, while this year’s children’s programme will focus on the popular local comic duo of Miha Ha and Maša Ogrizek.

The complete festival programme will soon be revealed at www.tinta.si/en.

See you in October!
