In the zine Mudd Ball Part 2, we follow the eponymous protagonist as he grapples with the absurdity of everyday life.
The author places his character, whose appearance resembles a sad clown, into situations that are entirely ordinary to us, yet completely foreign to this non-human being. Everyday objects, such as television screens, mirrors, and aquariums, transform into massive, menacing structures, blending into one another or becoming something entirely new. Little Mudd Ball must thus confront an unfamiliar world and its implications – from consumerism and advertising to the omnipresence of media and understanding himself through them.
Maxime Custodio (2000) is a visual artist who works in the fields of sculpture, installation, videos and painting. In 2026, he finished a master’s programme at the National School of Fine Arts and Design in Dijon. During his studies, he did an exchange year at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design of the University in Ljubljana. His works have been featured in the exhibitions XXX (Les Ateliers la Volière, France, 2024), Ampak (MGBS, Slovenia, 2025) and Døuglandie (City Hall Atria, Slovenia, 2025).
