The Zagreb-based art collective and print studio Smak Press presents a vibrant cross-section of its printed and publishing output at the DobraVaga gallery.
On display will be screen- and risograph-printed works, zines, and other artistic publications created over the past two years by members of the collective and their collaborators. The exhibition embodies the playfulness, experimental boldness, and diversity that are the hallmark and driving force of independent printmaking and the alternative art scene.
Smak Press is a dynamic art collective and printing lab from Zagreb, bringing together young creators from various fields – from illustration, graphic design, and tattooing to music, film, and new media. Together, they experiment, explore and produce graphics, zines, comics, and other artistic publications using screen-printing and risograph techniques. Over the past two years, their print studio and the neighbouring gallery, Studio Klet, have become a lively cultural hub, hosting exhibitions, workshops, concerts, and the new independent print and self-publishing festival Štampić, which connects and celebrates the creativity of local and international artists, as well as independent publishers.
