Legendary Joy Division and New Order bassist Peter Hook is returning to Kino Šiška with his band The Light to commemorate the 25th anniversary of New Order’s seventh album Get Ready. In addition to playing through the entire album, they’ll also perform the most seminal tracks from the extensive back catalogues of both aforementioned bands.

Peter Hook aka Hooky began revisiting his back catalogue in 2010 with a charity performance of Joy Division’s Unknown Pleasures. Each year since, he has worked chronologically through the albums of Joy Division and New Order, performing nearly 900 concerts worldwide with his band The Light. Highlights include major festival appearances at Benicàssim, Primavera Sound, and Bestival, as well as headline gigs around the world, including a memorable 2013 performance at our very own Kino Šiška.
Hook’s tireless mission of bringing the groundbreaking music of his former bands to life on stage for younger generations has now reached New Order’s 2001 album Get Ready, one of the albums of the year according to numerous referential media. Described by the acclaimed bassist as an underrated but pivotal record, it marked both maturity and the beginning of old tensions resurfacing. Despite the difficulties, he and Bernard Sumner worked hard to make the album strong, and Hook looks forward to performing songs from it live, many for the first time. The shows will feature the full Get Ready album alongside classic tracks from Joy Division and New Order.
