The thundering velvet voice and stalwart guitar pillar of Neurosis, Steve Von Till, is bringing his solo project to Ljubljana. Fresh off a coveted Roadburn residency, the beloved musician will present his new album, released this May.

Steve Von Till is an American musician best known as a vocalist and guitarist for the influential post-metal band Neurosis, which he joined in 1989. Over the years, he has helped shape the band’s evolution from hardcore punk into a pioneering force in atmospheric and experimental metal. Alongside his work with Neurosis, Von Till has built a respected solo career, releasing introspective, folk-infused albums, as well as recording under the name Harvestman, focusing on psychedelic and drone-based soundscapes. A highly respected figure on the alternative music landscape, he was most recently selected for the coveted Artist in Residence slot at the renowned Roadburn Festival.
Released by Neurot this May, Steve Von Till’s new album, Alone in a World of Wounds, is a haunting and atmospheric album that marks a distinct departure for him, blending gothic Americana with ambient textures, drones, and melancholic cello arrangements. Inspired by the resonance of piano and synths, the record showcases his voice more openly than ever, exploring themes of sorrow, nature, and intuition. It reflects on the emotional disconnect from the natural world while drawing strength from Von Till’s punk rock and DIY roots. We’ll hear it live in Šiška, backed by synths, percussion, bass, and cello.
