With the zine I Cheat Time, A Voyeur of the Sleeping City, illustrator and comic artist Hana Černivec compiles impressions gathered on night walks.
Time flows differently then: at night, we are (usually) freed from work obligations, while the city in stillness and silence evokes the impression of the end of the world – at least the one we inhabit by day. Night is a space of freedom, where it is easy to indulge and daydream endlessly, until the sun comes up.
Hana Černivec (1999) completed her master’s degree in illustration at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Ljubljana in 2025. She works primarily in illustration and comics. She has participated in several group exhibitions (KAOS, 3rd Festival of Contemporary Collage, 2020; Independent Biennial 2019, 2024, 2025; AppointMENT 7.0, 2023) and has published short comics in the magazines Stripburger and Literatura.
