LEALUDVIK: Ceremonies

zine exhibition

Within the framework of the Zine Vitrine exhibition programme, LEALUDVIK will present a selection of their own zines and prints.

In the zines, LEALUDVIK primarily utilise photographs and video sequences, often intertwined with illustrations. The foundation of their artistic work originates in the exploration of fetishism, BDSM practices, slasher and giallo films, and occultism. Through the decomposition of gender roles, they disclose their world from a male and female perspective.

LEALUDVIK are Lea Jelenko (1986) and Matjaž Komel (1987). Lea graduated in Graphic and Interactive Communication from the Department of Textiles, Graphic Arts and Design at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Engineering in Ljubljana. She is active in the fields of video and graphic design, and collaborates on the LEALUDVIK project with her partner. Matjaž graduated in Visual Communication from the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Ljubljana. In addition to the LEALUDVIK project, he is a graphic and fashion designer. As LEALUDVIK, they participated in the Kino Šiška, V. Independent Biennial (2015), Festival Sonica – MoTA, Lealudvik: Safe Haven (2015), P74, Zine Zine (2016) and MGLC, Independent Biennial vs. Zelenko (2016) exhibitions, as well as the BYOB Ljubljana at MoTA Point (2014) event, the Photonic Moments evening projections at the Photon Gallery (2014), and Caffeine Hours (2014–2016), Zine Fest Berlin (2014) and Zine Store Day in Vienna (2014).
