“Cabbage heads, potato heads, cotton bud heads, all these heads spin – they turn into different shapes, change size, and live in various scenarios. They are sleeping under the carpet, hiking under the sink waterfall, hiding at the bottom of a cup, or just fooling around.”
This tiny handbound zine, filled with photo collages and a pair of poems, was made by Jelena Milohanić as a final project for an elective course at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design (ALUO) in Ljubljana last year, under the mentorship of Matej Stupica.
Jelena Milohanić (1999) is currently concluding her studies of Photography at ALUO. In her works, she explores magical realism, surrealism, memories and fake memories, experiments with different media and finds inspiration in the fields of film, painting, animation … She is part of the Bastardi art collective in Ljubljana and has recently held an exhibition of her photo series for the Svjetlokazi (T. Milohanić) poetry collection at the Poreč City Library.
