YĪN YĪN

concert

On their predominantly instrumental compositions, the young Dutch band Yīn Yīn ping-pong masterfully between past and present, West and East, full moon parties on Thai beaches and American hippie festivals. They will present their new album, released by the esteemed Glitterbeat Records.

In the construction of their rainbow funk, kaleidoscopic music cosmopolitans Yīn Yīn don’t hesitate in reaching for disco, psychedelia, electronics, samples, basically anything that such a company of musical dreamers can come up with. Their well-received debut The Rabbit That Hunts Tigers placed them somewhere halfway between the Netherlands and Southeast Asia on the music map, and their tours (also accompanying their better-known compatriots Altin Gün) got crowds across Europe to move, including at festivals such as Eurosonic Noorderslag and Le Guess Who?.

Their new album The Age of Aquarius, released on March 4, 2022, brings them into the fold of Glitterbeat Records and takes them even deeper into space atmospherics and feverish dance floors. The journey, which they start in the sold-out London Jazz Café on release day, will also bring them to us in May, with a single task: to invite us to dance.
