Having previously captivated us with their chunky funk, disco nostalgia and psychedelic joyriding on multiple occasions, the musical Dutch mystics YĪN YĪN are returning to Kino Šiška with a brand new album, this one informed by Italo disco, global travels, and Japanese spy films, among others.

YĪN YĪN’s much-anticipated fourth album Yatta!, released in January 2026, comes after years of global touring that included landmark shows at Lowlands, North Sea Jazz Festival, Fuji Rock, Clockenflap, and venues across Europe, Asia, and America. Those travels fed directly into the band’s writing process, with influences drawn from sounds and scenes all over the world.
A key inspiration this time is Italo disco, the spacey, psychedelic dance music that thrived in Italy during the late 1970s and 1980s. The band describe the genre as mysterious, since few images survive of the producers at work, leaving listeners to imagine how those shimmering, futuristic tracks were created. That sense of intrigue runs through Yatta!, where endless grooves meet trippy guitars, with songs evoking everything from Japanese soul-funk spy films to Thai spaghetti westerns.
Over the past six years, the Maastricht quartet have honed a reputation for blending far-flung influences into music that feels retro yet forward-looking. Their story began with a jam session in a ballet school, which birthed their debut The Rabbit That Hunts Tigers, swiftly followed by The Age of Aquarius in 2022 and Mount Matsu in 2024. Now, with Yatta!, the band deliver their most complete statement yet. Yatta! captures four musicians joyfully navigating their globe-trotting groove, pushing their adventurous sound further than ever. And the best part is—you’re invited along for the ride.
