Marijo Županov is a photographer specialising in fashion, documentary, and fine art photography. He collaborates with both local and international fashion designers as well as fashion design students. His photographs are frequently published in various Slovenian and international magazines. In the field of fashion photography, he regularly shoots at both Paris and Ljubljana Fashion Weeks. Between 2020 and 2025, he held six solo exhibitions in Slovenia (Pleasures, Under the Tuck, Queer Issues, among others) and participated in eight group exhibitions in Slovenia (mostly at the DobraVaga gallery) and abroad (Kula in Belgrade). In addition to fashion, he also works in architectural and interior photography, as well as photographing parties, cultural events, and other occasions, actively collaborating with the local LGBTQIA+ community. The latter is a strong source of inspiration for him, and he dedicates his gallery-based artistic practice to it, supporting and promoting the visibility of the local queer scene, including drag queen events at Club Tiffany and events organised by the Pritličje bar and the Ustanova collective.
