TRENTEMØLLER

+ Sakura

Returning to Slovenia for the first time since his celebrated sold-out show in 2017, Danish producer Trentemøller and his four-piece live band will treat us to a spectacular show in honour of his latest release Memoria.

FOR FANS OF: Moderat, Slowdive, Pantha Du Prince …

Copenhagen’s Anders Trentemøller has long been respected as a creator of extraordinarily memorable melodies and lush soundscapes, but for the last decade he’s been getting long overdue praise for being a producer with few rivals as well. Since assembling his first full live band in 2007, he has embarked on multiple world tours, regularly selling out venues – including our own in 2017.

Complementing his own studio releases, the Danish musician has also remixed music by Tricky, Savages, A Place To Bury Strangers, The Soft Moon, UNKLE, Depeche Mode, Pet Shop Boys, The Knife, Franz Ferdinand and many others, with his work repeatedly recognised for its originality and craftsmanship.

In early 2022, 15 years after Trentemøller released his milestone debut album The Last Resort, he released his new album Memoria to considerable acclaim. In stark contrast to the previous studio album, Obverse (2019), Memoria is intended and almost demanding to be presented on the live venues and festivals we have all longed for in recent years.

Besides an exciting stage and light design collaboration with the legendary lighting designer Leroy Bennett (who has worked with Nine Inch Nails, Prince, Lady Gaga, Paul McCartney, etc), Trentemøller will be joined on stage by an all-new band consisting of four carefully selected musicians, helping bring his mesmerising musical vision to life. During its previous legs, the Memoria tour has garnered awed praise from all over the world, and we’re extremely happy Ljubljana’s turn is coming up. This spectacle is not to be missed.

Sakura has created their own place with a fiercely independent approach to life and music. Self-releasing a handful of singles over the years has led to international radio airplay, features in Spotify editorial playlists, media support and supporting local and international artists such as indie giant Mitski. On their debut “Skin”, Sakura pieces together fragments of their identity to create a personal and cinematic coming-of-age story featuring a slew of influences, ranging from shoegaze to lo-fi bedroom pop, indie and emo.

Tickets on sale on Friday, May 12th at 10 am online and at Eventim outlets.
