American powerhouse The Interrupters, equal parts high-octane dance party, cathartic therapy session, and pure ska-punk euphoria, are bringing their joyful hooks and a brand-new album to our outdoor stage in summer.

FOR FANS OF: NOFX, Lagwagon, Rancid …

The Interrupters are a punk ro-

Stop.

The Interrupters are a ska pu-

Nope, stop.

When considering Los Angeles outfit The Interrupters, take a moment to kindly forget jargon like “SoCal punk rock” or “next wave ska” or whatever perimeter you want to secure around them.

That’s better, carry on.

A typical Interrupters gig feels like going to church where all the religious iconography is taken out and replaced with mirrors so the band and audience become one. Ignited by the band’s indefatigable enthusiasm, attendees can see joy in action, discover strength in numbers, and feel bulletproof when facing the forces that haunt them. Transfixed by the legendary 1980s 2 Tone ska movement and fuelled with a contemporary energy that makes thrash-metallers seem positively slack, they blur the enthusiasm between band and audience in a way that’s equal parts dance party, cardio workout and personal therapy.

After forming in 2011 and developing under the mentorship of Rancid’s Tim Armstrong, the band’s self-titled 2014 debut caught on like wildfire, bolstered by incredible songs, the frontwoman’s 100,000-Watt charisma, and a stage presence best described as the kinetic energy of bouncing balls in human form. Touring relentlessly, including on the Vans Warped Tour and supporting the likes of Bad Religion and Green Day, hasn’t stopped them from regularly releasing new music, with their fifth album on the way. We’ll listen to new material and familiar favourites under the clear June skies of our outdoor stage – without interruption.

Ska-punk pioneers The Suicide Machines bring their explosive Detroit energy to set the stage ablaze for The Interrupters. Formed in 1991, they’re currently touring in celebration of 30 years of their landmark debut album Destruction by Definition, which established them as one of the forerunners of the ska punk wave that exploded around the world in the mid-1990s. Their lively performance and anthemic choruses guarantee the energy will be at absolute peak levels right from the start.

Tickets on sale on Friday, November 11 at 10 am online and at Eventim outlets.
