farewell tour

THE GRANDMOTHERS OF INVENTION

After an exhilarating first visit in 2014, the GrandMothers of Invention, the only alumni of the legendary Frank Zappa and his band The Mothers of invention who have constantly played the maestro’s music since 2003, are returning to Šiška as part of their farewell tour. Don’t miss your chance to see them live one last time!

“The GrandMothers of Invention gave an exhilarating performance and fulfilled many of the high expectations of fans of unbridled musical experimentation and satire.” – Rockline

“[The GrandMothers of Invention] proved that somewhere over the mountains, the Atlantic, and a couple more mountains, musicians that play for the music, not the fame and glory, still exist.” – Radio Študent

Yep, when the GrandMothers of Invention paid us their first visit, they proved they more than faithfully carry on Zappa‘s legacy of entertaining satire, virtuosic improvisation and free-minded sonic experimentation. At their 15th anniversary, they’re coming back with a line-up consisting of long-time The Mothers of Invention members Bunk Gardner, Don Preston and Ed Mann, along with later arrival Christopher Garcia, and a repertoire of numerous eclectic classics, as well as a bunch of pointed humorous remarks. Though Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention are gone, their music and spirit are alive and kicking in the “grandmas”.
