In a time when Serbia, and the world in general, feel increasingly fractured, Repetitor return to the stage – one of the most vital contemporary bands in our region, whose garage-rock punches have been shaking venues and pointing toward a better tomorrow for more than 20 years.

FOR FANS OF: Nirvana, Porto Morto, Nikki Louder …

The trio – Boris Vlastelica, Milena Milutinović and Ana-Marija Cupin – have been tearing up stages worldwide for over two decades with their explosive charge of post-punk and noise rock. Their raw sound forms a bridge between the ferocity of ex-Yugoslav punk and the buzzing creativity of the new Serbian scene, which they helped establish in the 2000s. At the same time, they draw clear parallels with Seattle’s legendary underground, which once gave rise to bands like Mudhoney and Nirvana – and music writers are more than happy to call Repetitor their spiritual heirs.

Since forming in 2005, Repetitor have released four records that consistently landed at the top of year-end lists – from their debut Sve što vidim je prvi put (2008) to Dobrodošli na okean (2012), Gde ćeš (2016), and Prazan prostor među nama koji može i da ne postoji (2020). Masters of crafting punchy drum-bass-guitar blasts that launch straight from the garage into your skull while incisively probing the rot of modern society, they’ve built up a legion of devoted listeners over the years. But it was their live reputation that truly cemented their place on the scene – whether it’s a major European festival or a high-security prison, their wild performances are untamed and unforgettable.

Signed to local label Moonlee, Repetitor have been frequent visitors to our parts as well. This time, they’re returning after a short break during which, after years of non-stop touring, they finally recharged their batteries. We’re already eagerly awaiting them in Šiška.

Since their formation in 2020, the trans-Balkan trio Lelee have established themselves as one of the more prominent acts on the regional indie scene, recognised for their bright, youthful and playful sound. The band’s music blends the legacy of Yugoslav new wave with 1990s indie and slacker rock, infused with a distinct Adriatic temperament, while the interplay of male and female vocals gives their sound a particularly distinctive character. Following the warmly received debut album Čuka bije pumpa (2021), which took them to stages across the region and beyond, they continued their story in 2024 with Mora malo u crveno, an album full of positive energy, infectious choruses and an honest, collective zest for life that pushes back against the gloom of the times. Having previously done an excellent job warming up Šiška for a show by Buč Kesidi, we’re once again happy to hand them the reins.

After the Katedrala Hall gig, we’ll keep the good times rolling in true late-night style with an afterparty in a more intimate setting. We’ll be joined downstairs by local indie slackers Morvern and by one of the most exciting young Serbian bands of the moment, Ubili su batlera, for a healthy dose of garage rock and nocturnal adventure.

Morvern has been active in one form or another for almost a decade, growing from a lo-fi singer-songwriter project into a well-known pillar of the Ljubljana indie scene, now helmed by a collective of three like-minded individuals. Over time, their sound has evolved from dreamy bedroom pop into raw, high-energy garage rock, with live experience built across Slovenia and the Balkans, including appearances at regional festivals and skate and BMX events.

Ubili su batlera emerged from the new Belgrade scene bubbling up around the cult annual Hali Gali gathering, making their mark through intense and frequent live shows. Since their appearance at MENT 2024, they’ve released their debut EP, fully living up to the high expectations. Loosely drawing on post-hardcore, emo and screamo, the Belgrade four-piece are now considered one of the most promising regional acts and a band you truly need to catch live, much like Repetitor in their early days.
