In the Comic Dialogues series of talks, we bring together pairs of local comics creators to explore their key influences and sources of inspiration.
The opening conversation will feature Dora Kaštrun and Matej de Cecco, who will discuss their comic heroes – from the artists who shaped them most, to the comics they still “borrow” from today and the masterpieces they secretly wish they had drawn themselves.
Dora Kaštrun (1994) is an illustrator and comic artist who broke onto the domestic comics scene with her punchy collections of short humorous comics Frogs and Frogs 2. Currently, she is collaborating with writer Maša Ogrizek on the popular comic series Paws Detective Agency, which delights young readers of Galeb magazine every month.
Matej de Cecco (1979) is an illustrator and comic artist best known as the co-creator of the legendary Šnofi’s Gang. Since 2008, he has formed one of Slovenia’s most prolific and witty comic tandems with writer Boštjan Gorenc – Pižama.
