What will Ljubljana offer culture and the arts during the upcoming mayoral term? The Asociacija Association and Kino Šiška invite you to a public debate featuring candidates for Mayor of the City of Ljubljana.
Ahead of the local elections, candidates for Mayor of the City of Ljubljana will be presented with findings from analyses of local cultural policy alongside direct experiences from the cultural sector. The focus will be on how they intend to develop the overall cultural ecosystem and what role they envision for non-governmental organisations and self-employed culture workers within it.
Key topics will include public funding, cultural infrastructure and creative spaces, working conditions for professional cultural practitioners, and cultural accessibility for residents. Candidates will be asked to outline their proposed measures, implementation timelines, and funding sources, establishing commitments that can be tracked following the elections.

During the first hour of the debate, questions can be submitted via the live stream chat. Submissions will be reviewed, and selected questions will be passed to the moderator; due to time constraints, not all questions can be addressed. The debate will be moderated by Antun Katalenić, journalist at Oštro. Information regarding participating candidates will be published ahead of the event.
