With his velvet voice, piercing lyrics, gently strummed guitar and pop rhythms, Popotnik crafts a smoky club, nighttime bus ride or the quiet echo of saddened self-reflection with ease. Even though his music can be categorised as pop, indie or lo-fi, he prefers his own term “stop pop”. He’s published two EPs so far and is a regular presence on Radio Študent. Only he knows where he’ll take us on June 23.
Summer in Šiška is a series of free evening concerts, helping you chase away the social distancing blues. If the weather cooperates, we’ll cool off with a refreshing drink on the summer terrace of Café Kino Šiška, and if it looks to be raining, we’ll listen to good tunes in accordance with applicable public health regulations beneath the roof of our Komuna Hall.
