The unstoppable machinery that is OSEES – arguably one of the loudest and most prolific bands of the American underground, which over the past three decades has become synonymous with pure garage rock combustion – is finally coming to Ljubljana.

FOR FANS OF: Ty Segall, SLIFT, Mac DeMarco …

OSEES is … OSEES are bands. Plural. Operating under multiple names – Orinoka Crash Suite, OCS, Thee Oh Sees, and several other variations on the theme. With enough line-up changes over their years of activity to staff three or four average ensembles – they even feature twice as many drummers on stage as you’d expect. Their discography is equally more extensive than you would expect from a single band, averaging more than one album a year across roughly 30 years. On top of it all, the band’s sonic expression refuses to sit still, having darted from its freak-folk origins into everything from garage punk, psychedelia, and krautrock, right back to freak folk and beyond.

Let’s start over. OSEES is the indestructible John Dwyer, the definitive authority of the Californian garage underground. For three decades, in one shape or another, alongside various collaborators, and under a rotation of monikers, Dwyer has acted like a berserk audio blender, mercilessly mixing genres, shredding strings, and charging full throttle in whatever direction takes his fancy. Alongside his singular drive and creative restlessness, he possesses an innate knack for hits, whether they take the form of noisy rock bangers or trippy sonic odysseys.

As befits an act with this kind of pedigree, OSEES are naturally a force of nature live, and in June, they will finally visit Šiška. We’re also in for a special treat: joining Dwyer and his current line-up on tour is Brigid Dawson, a key band member from their most iconic era and peak album achievements, Carrion Crawler/The Dream and Floating Coffin. Alongside newer material, tracks from these classic records are confirmed for the setlist. So grab your ticket, pull your favourite worn-out band tee from the wardrobe, hands in the air, and see you down the front.

Tickets on sale on Thursday, October 9 at 11 am online and at Eventim outlets.

Organisation: Kino Šiška.
