In October, Šiška will host the authentic Slovenian miners Orlek, whose unique knap ‘n’ roll cross between lively rock ‘n’ roll, traditional folk songs and wholesome Slovenian humour has made them one of the most original Slovenian bands of the last 30 years. In 2019, Orlek are celebrating 30 years of continued operation. During this time, they’ve released more than ten albums, filmed around 20 videos and performed around one thousand shows, including 65 abroad, even at the legendary CBGB club in New York City. In October, they’ll throw a proper Zasavje-style party in Šiška, as they’ll be joined by Big Band Zagorje, Velenje rapper 6pack Čukur, and actor Matjaž Javšnik, with whom they’ve been performing the successful concert/comedy Frpruh around Slovenia.
