Orlek are celebrating 35 years! The original group from Zasavje, famous for their unique knap’n’roll, a cross between rock and roll, traditional folk songs and authentic Slovenian humor, will play the headline concert of their anniversary at Kino Šiška.
Orlek have been considered one of the most original local bands for 35 years. They were founded at the end of the 1980s in Zagorje ob Savi, in the heart of Slovenian mining country, and they proudly carry their origins with them. They won us over years ago with their inimitable and unique mixture of proper rock and roll, traditional folk songs, original humour humor and simplicity, and the stories they tell with their music.
Orlek have created and experienced a lot: they have recorded thirteen albums, played countless concerts on the biggest and smallest Slovenian stages, performed at festivals abroad and went on an extensive tour of South America, played the legendary CBGB in New York and the list goes on. They’ve announced a new album in 2024, scheduled for release in May, and in autumn they’re putting on a big concert at Kino Šiška to celebrate 35 years. Don’t miss the festivities!
