ARTIST PER MONTH

Neža Knez: LivinLaVidaLoca

exhibition

The project, set indefinitely in the future, features an insect-shaped bio-robot that explores artifacts of humanity and hybrid living beings, thus building an archive in the form of a digital museum of natural sciences and engineering. The protagonist, which is made of fungi, uses a network of mycelium to detect and store information and assumes the role of a scientist who is not influenced by existing Western methods of scientific research in designing the collection. The LivinLaVidaLoca exhibition presents a reflection on human supremacy and the possibilities for the technological development of non-human beings.

Neža Knez (1996) graduated in Graphic and Interactive Communication at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Engineering, and is pursuing postgraduate studies in Video and New Media at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Ljubljana. In her work, she explores nature, technology and the individual, as well as their intertwining. She mostly presents her work in the form of video installations and VJ performances, which allows her to explore different spatial dimensions. She participates in various events and meetings of the V2V community at Osmoza. As a member of the Nimaš izbire collective, she VJs at Štrom events.
