After graduating from the Berklee College of Music, Mariane Brito da Cruz Forjaz Secca aka MARO ignited her career in 2018 with the release of no fewer than five albums and an EP in quick succession. Her reputation as a world-class performer was further cemented during her time as a member of Jacob Collier’s tour band and through her own collaborative series with icons like Eric Clapton and Pablo Alborán. While many first discovered her when she represented Portugal at Eurovision 2022 – finishing in the top 10 with the hauntingly beautiful “saudade, saudade” – her artistry spans far beyond a single stage. From the acoustic intimacy of her award-winning album hortelã to the electronic explorations of her collaborations with Nasaya, MARO is an artist in a constant state of evolution.
