Céline is expecting her first child, but she is not the one who is pregnant.

In three months, her wife Nadia will give birth to their daughter. Screenwriter and director Alice Douard’s debut focuses on the experiences of queer people after the legalisation of same-sex marriage in France. Set in 2014, newly married Parisian couple Céline and Nadia Steyer navigate the complicated process of IVF treatment at a time when it was not yet legally accessible to lesbian couples in France, as well as the bureaucratic requirements for single-parent adoption.
