At our traditional New Year’s party in cooperation with Mladina, we will—fittingly for the times—rage with the infamous Bob Vylan, whose furious cry of rebellion has found itself at the centre of the zeitgeist in recent years, sparked controversy worldwide, and established the band as the undisputed voice of a generation that refuses to accept the status quo.

Despite the personal name, Bob Vylan is actually an explosive London duo who, by combining elements of grime, punk rock, and hip-hop, create a raw, violent sound and a fearless voice of resistance against social injustice. Ever since the release of their debut album We Live Here, they have been considered uncompromising critics of racism, inequality, and systemic oppression. Following their high-profile chanting at last year’s Glastonbury Festival—the very same place where Kneecap also landed on the front pages with their pro-Palestinian stance—and the subsequent backlash, their call to arms spread across the globe.
In recent years, the London duo has become a true phenomenon of the independent alternative scene, forging a path to Europe’s biggest festivals without the support of major labels, earning a loyal audience and critical acclaim along the way. Their uncompromising attitude, relentless yet surprisingly captivating musical expression, and raw energy that doesn’t hold back when shattering social taboos make them a sonic Molotov cocktail perfectly suited to the general mess the world is sliding into. This December, it will detonate in Šiška.
