ICED EARTH

+ Metalsteel + Eruption

In July, when metalheads all over are eagerly gearing up for the MetalDays festival, which is also hosting the one and only Judas Priest this year, a warm-up gig beyond compare will take place at Šiška. American power metal band Iced Earth will take to the stage!

The band, led by guitarist/songwriter Jon Schaffer, has been bringing its epically tinged, emotionally loaded, original American power metal to the world since 1988. Regardless of whether you experienced Iced Earth merely by listening to albums such as Night of the Stormrider, Something Wicked This Way Comes, The Glorious Burden and Dystopia, or if you saw them live, it’s always been clear that this is a band unlike any other, a band that lets each listener know that it exists because and for him. Iced Earth are of the people for the people, to put it another way. Their albums touch on mysticism, unwritten and long-forgotten mythologies, literary classics or historic moments, while in recent years, their message has shined a light in the darkness of the seemingly free world. Live, this comes to bear in the form of long shows, packed with both energy and feeling, with songs from all of the band’s eras, though they will likely focus on current album Incorruptible at their gig in Šiška in July. In any case, vocalist Stu Block, guitarists Jon Schaffer and Jake Dreyer, bassist Luke Appleton, and drummer Brent Smedley – Iced Earth – are something that’s not to be missed if you’ve got metal running through your veins.

Support act Metalsteel comes from our part of the world. The band have been living and breathing heavy metal from the beginning, forging their sound in both dives and festivals all over Europe, and winning listeners over with both classic hits and their new album Beyond the Stars, released via On Parole Productions in December.

Tickets also on sale via On Parole Productions.
