As part of the opening of the DobraVaga Gallery’s 10th anniversary exhibition 20X6 – Loops and Pitfalls, the artist esh will present an excerpt from the performance Come and See.
The performance is part of her broader, semi-autobiographical theatrical-reading project, inspired by the motifs of Elem Klimov’s film of the same name, which the artist will premiere in its entirety in late autumn. It focuses on the personal experience of war trauma, the gradual disintegration of thought, environment, and body, and the subsequent slide into madness. Rooted in an understanding of history as a cyclical process, the performance establishes a tension between the reinterpretation of the past and a premonition of the future.
Due to the theatrical nature of the performance, we ask that you arrive on time. Please gather at the entrance to the gallery at 6:55 p.m.; the doors will be locked after that time. Recording and photography of the event are prohibited.
