As part of the “Beavers” Festival, we are once again preparing a zine workshop for the youngest visitor to open the door to the world of contemporary visual art and urban creativity. At the workshop, mentor Lena Lekše will introduce children to zines as a creative way of telling stories.
Participants will first visit the DobraVaga Gallery and its zine reading room with a large collection of art zines. They will look at examples of zines and find out what zines are and how we can make them ourselves. The workshop will start with the question of what is hiding under a rock, in a wooden hollow or at the bottom of the pond, and each participant will make a unique zine based on their answers.
The workshop is intended for children over 6 years of age. The number of places is limited. Prior registration is required.

Visual artist Lena Lekše received her master’s degree from the Department of Sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design (ALUO) in Ljubljana in 2021. She is the recipient of the OHO Group Award and two ALUO Student Awards. Since 2018, she has been a member of the Galerija 7:069 collective, which focuses on presenting younger student production around Slovenia. As a mentor, she has led workshops on contemporary art for children at the P74 Gallery (the P.A.R.A.S.I.T.K.I program) and animated film workshops as part of the SLON society. She has participated in several group and solo exhibitions in Slovenia and abroad. In 2021, she received a two-month residency for young artists at Residency Unlimited in New York City. In her work, she often builds complex fictional worlds through humor, using a variety of media. Viewers of her work are invited to reconsider their own position and question the systems of beliefs and power of which they are a part.

PCT POGOJI
Ob vstopu na prireditveni prostor v času javnih kulturnih prireditev je potrebno upoštevati veljavne javnozdravstvene ukrepe in s tem dokazila o PCT pogoju. Kot dokazilo o izpolnjevanju pogoja PCT se lahko predloži digitalno COVID potrdilo EU v digitalni ali papirnati obliki, opremljeno s kodo QR (mobilna sporočila niso veljavna) ali se predloži drugo potrdilo oziroma dokazilo v skladu s predpisi, ki ga pristojna oseba preveri z vpogledom v to potrdilo oziroma dokazilo. Ob predložitvi katerega od navedenih dokazil je potrebno izkazati tudi veljaven osebni dokument.
